Question type: General

I have a 99 Ford Explorer Eddie Bower 4x4 all wheel drive, I’m looking to
move from Minneapolis to Tampa (1600+) mile trip. I currently own a 6x8x3 old pop-up camper turned trailer. I am worried about the strain this will put on
my truck, do you think it’s a good idea to take it on the trip?

Total weight will give you the answer along with whether your truck was equipped with a trailering package (trans cooler, bigger brakes, better suspension, etc.). A 99 like yours will probably be rated at 5000 lbs towing capacity but it is easy to check via Ford.
