Lexus model designations

Asked by GuruH6X9L Aug 05, 2019 at 08:08 PM about the 2017 Lexus GS F F RWD

Question type: General

I am a current BMW owner, ready to
go to Lexus based upon reported
level of trim and reliability.  However, I
do not know how to interpret the
model designations.  I am mostly
interested in reliability, luxury, and
size - as in especially rear seat
legroom.
For bmw, size and level of gizmos is
roughly along the lines of series 1
series smallest, 8 series largest.
What are the model progressions for
Lexus?  Not interested in SUCs,
crossovers, etc
