2006 jeep liberty 3.7cant retreive errror codes. mechanic cant get into it with diagnostic tool

my mechanic cant get into the computer with code reader. he has used two readers and cant get in. any solution?

these use a CAN bus system. your code reader is probably too old.autozone can prob. read it, or dealer.

Also check your battery and it's connections. a bad battery will mess with a code reader and could have been the cause of the check engine light!
