04 Yukon denali will crank but wont stay on

Recently had to change key cylinder in the ignition.
Before that the truck had sat for almost 3 weeks.
Now will crank but only for a second then will cut
off. It seems as if it's not getting gas but have
plenty in it. Just need some opinions

did you have the key reprogrammed after the cylinder replacement? you will need to do that.
It's not a chip key or anything. A locksmith came out and did it for me because I couldn't get the cylinder to rotate. When he took it out he cranked it right up with a screwdriver but once he put the other cylinder in it only goes for a sec then stops. Saying all that just to say I'm pretty sure he programmed it and did what was supposed to be done
it ran before right? so it started with a screw driver but not the key? see where im going with this?
