After accelerating from a 'complete stop'. once the vehicle starts moving, a loud knock is
felt and heard, from transmission or transfer case?

sounds like a manual transmission which takes a measure of 80W-90 hypoid gear oil as I recall, but could be standard automatic oil, seen 'em that way too....which if is low or hasn't been serviced or changed since the dawn of time would recommend a transmission service....also on a whim take a look at the engine and transmission mounts~ they might be torn~

it could be the transmission mount is loose, i had a 1995 camaro that a mount bolt came loose, and when i took off it would jump a little after it caught. i would check that first.

Had the same problem with 09 liberty.....found that the transmission needs to be relearned. find someone with scanner and have them do a transmission relearn procedure.....problem solved
