02 Jeep Wrangler has a clicking noise.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
There is a loud clicking noise coming from the under the hood. Sounds like a playing card
in the spoke on a bicycle. The Jeep runs perfect except for the noise. It is not present all
the time and diminishes when the engine warms.

you have a vacum leak thats why your diagham is not changing the vents the dighram is shot
should be a vacume valve under the hood. Could be the hose is bad or it could be the valve it self. Vacum control moduel I believe they call it

I believe that your ignition relay is a clackin',,,,be worth the seven bucks to have an extra on your hands if this ain't it...you could sniff the relay to see if it's burnt...or listen with a cardboard tube to pinpoint what the hell is makin' the noise~

like nine bucks...think it may be near the steering column on a pigtail connector~....check the box first~
The ignition relay. Is that something a novice can fix?
roy did you read his other post about the heat vents not changeing?

vacuum or servo motor...or god forbid...both...yes, I'm aware that each car maker has his way of doin' it RIGHT~

yeah....follow the clickin' sound...simply unplugs easier than a lightbulb.~ helped a gal...we could not find it....then finally she found it on a pigtail near the ignition switch...really no not the subtleties here, but I think hers was a Wrangler as well...could find the post~

I've diagnosed "heat vents" not changing...mostly it is because the butyl rubber (chewing gum and coal tar) start to age and crack...leakin' to beat the band...I always recommend GATES silicone vacuum hose replacements...that do not degrade...at all~

Do a cargurus search on heat vents...it's there~
