how do I write a review on a dealership

Asked by obwilliams Jan 28, 2015 at 03:00 PM about the 2002 Jeep Wrangler X

Question type: General

I had a terrible experience with a dealership. They have a very unsafe vehicle on their lot. We put it on a lift yesterday and found several issues with the tie rods ends, the lift kit was all loose and the rear track bar had issues. The vehicle would pull on the road and feel like sliding on ice. At its present condition it could definitely be a safety issues. Being a mechanic i asked for a price decrease in the cost of the repairs. The dealer simply said they are staying firm. The also stated that a mechanic had just fixed the issue. There was nothing under the jeep suggesting that any qualified mechanic had done recent repairs. This to me is an ethical issue that could cost someone their life if not taken care of. We obviously moved on and purchased from another dealer, but this is still bothering my mind because of the lack of concern shown by the dealership.

Does the dealership have a website? What about the Better Business Bureau? I would be careful about doing so.

If you contacted the dealer via email, you should get an email from us asking to review your experience. It arrives a few days after you contact the dealer.

Every dealership owner has to make the eventual decision, "What is our brand identity?" "Do want happy customers or unhappy customers?" "Do we want be known as junk salesmen or sellers of quality products where we invest a great deal of time, effort and money to screen purchases, and properly repair and recondition vehicles?" The consumer, (in the end,) typically gets what they pay for. To pay a slightly higher cost to own a good running vehicle is also part of the consumer's solution. The lowest price ad should always be viewed with a rational mind. ALWAYS get a vehicle checked out by a qualified mechanic independently hired by the shopper as happened in this case. Now we know why the vehicle failed inspection, and why both parties wasted a bunch of time and resources. Einstein is loosely quoted as saying, "The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over, and expecting different results." Welcome to the car business.
