no oil pressure

Asked by knowltek Sep 15, 2013 at 11:09 AM about the 2000 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4-Door 4WD

2000 jeep cherokee 4.0.  changed the oil pump, checked the mains they look good.  start
engine cold pressure is up at 40lbs and with in 5 minutes it drops down to 5 lbs.  any
thoughts

Your oil pressure gauge coud be bad giving incorrect readings. Is it a real pressure gauge or and electronic dummy gauge?

Thats what I would have done too, now you will always have the correct oil pressure readings.
