I have 98 jeep Cherokee 4.0 I craked the head I was wondering if a head off of another 4.0 would work maybe out of a ranger or something

The Ranger is made by Ford and parts are not interchangeable with Jeeps. Make sure the replacement head works with your smog system and the fuel injection. Get one from the same year if at all possible.
