Why does my jeep keeps dying?

Asked by Guru69SZT Mar 10, 2020 at 09:55 AM about the 1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee xj. The engine
was just replaced about 50,000 miles ago. I
have no idea what is wrong with it but it keeps
backfiring going down the rd then it just totally
dies. The lights and everything stay on the
engine just kills itself, any suggestions to what
it might be?

1 Answer

I had this same problem in my truck and I was told by the shop it was an exposed wire touching the body. I forget where.
