Brake lights stay on, I've already changed the switch under the dash.

Asked by Beckaroo1982 Jun 12, 2019 at 05:02 PM about the 1998 Jeep Wrangler SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've already changed the switch under the dash. I have a sneaky feeling I pulled
on the E-brake a little too hard while in the backcountry. Help, please? Pulling
the fuse every bloody time I drive has become extremely annoying.

Are they on when the car is off ? brake lights are hot at all times along with horn and headlights ,You need a multi meter to see what's going on , other circuits may be grounding out through the brake light , old worn sockets can do weird things , after the pedal switch the wire may run through the directional switch if brake and directional share a bulb
