I need help with my 2002 Honda Accord

Asked by ryan Oct 05, 2020 at 03:33 PM about the 2002 Honda Accord Coupe SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Honda accord coupe. It will idle fine, and will start and drive no
problem. but after a few miles it will start to jerk and stall out, the security
light will come on and the car will stall out. If i stop and put the car in neutral
the car will just idle like nothing is wrong. I have already replaced the main
relay, the ignition switch, and the fuel pump. i have also put all new fuses in
as well. I am completely at a loss here...

it almost sounds to me the Transaxle torque convertor is locking up at idle. Do you have an automatic trans? You can start it in park and put in neutral but reverse or drive it will stall without giving it gas? IT can be the trans convertor lock solenoid of the convertor itself.
