Check and make sure your starter is fastened down tight. You may have some bolts lose and or the cable is lose. If it is tight as is the wiring, pull the starter and check the teeth to make sure they are not worn. While it is off, have it tested to make sure the starter and solenoid is working. Your last part of your statement is a bit garbled. Do you state the lights and buzzers work, but the starter will no turn the engine over? It also could be the key switch, but with the noise being made, I doubt it. Where is the noise coming from and what does it sound like? Metal plate hitting a rotating part? Perhaps the inspection shield is bent and hitting the flywheel and now is jamming it so the starter will not turn it. I don't know your driving habits, or where you have been driving. If you are strictly a street driver and the only thing you hit is a dead squirrel, that may not be the problem.
