2017 impreza hesitation and loss of power

When at running temp, in acceleration my 2017 Impreza starts skipping and
won't have any power, Even when I drop to a lower gear. Once this occurs,
even when I'm at a stop, and take off going through the gears the car skips
and bucks.
I've had it to the dealership, and was told there is nothing wrong, and no check
engine light. I have since changed the air filter but this did not help the
problem.

I'm experiencing this on a 2017 Impreza hatch with manual. Car has a history of oil consumption issues, including having the short block replaced (November 2018). Car ran fine for about six months, and then started loosing power/struggling between 2000 rpm and 3000 rpm. And then the low oil light came on again. Dealer can't find anything wrong, although they are now sending me letters that they are in desperate need of used Imprezas due to strong demand......hmmm......

I drive a 2019 manual Impreza. I am also experiencing excess oil consumption, especially after long trips. I have to keep a bottle or two of oil with me when I'm driving more than average. She hesitates around that 2000 mark, in 2nd-5th gear. First gear is relatively smooth, but she does buck every now and again. Dealership also can't find anything wrong. I am slightly relieved other people with similar models / years is having the same issues.
I drive a 2019 impreza sport 5 speed manual transmission and this is a huge pain. The problem comes and goes throughout the day. 1st gear is smooth, 2nd and 3rd really struggle, 4th and 5th are ok. In 2nd and 3rd, the car bucks and lags to an extreme extent. I'm not a mechanic and sadly know very little about cars, so any advice would be great since subaru has now told me 3 times that there's nothing wrong with the car
I also have a 2019 Impreza wagon with a manual feeling similar hesitation most prodiminent in 2nd-4th gears between 2400- 2600rpm. Took it into the dealer and they insisted there is nothing wrong similar to what others are reporting here. When I picked up the car I had a technician ride with me with there computer hooked up. All the vitals looked good, but the hesitation is still there. Technician claims that the car just isn’t in its power band and it is ‘normal’. I just had the fuel pump recall completed on it and this started happening after. Now there is even a slight odor of fuel in the car.

Hi there! Same thing here! 2020 Impreza MT hatchback. Intermittent loss of power when RPM is between 2000 and 3000. Started 6 months after acquision. I don't feel secure in this car... Dealer tried to clea injectors. Car ran fine for 2 weeks and issue started again. Seems to be worse after long highway trips.
I started experiencing this same issue on my 2019 Subaru Impreza Sport Hatch, MT. I bought the car brand new, late 2018, and this really didn't start to happen until 15,000 miles. The car accelerates normally under 2,000 RPM and then once the revs get around 2,000 RPM, it feels like it goes from 150 HP to 50 HP and just struggles, hesitates and bucks until I get close to 3,000 RPM and then it goes back to feeling like 150 HP. It happens the most during Summer months. The hotter and more humid, the worse it is. Happens more often after long drives. It happens in every gear and is most noticeable when going up hill. The more of a load on the car, the more noticeable. Happens after fresh oil changes too so it's not low on oil. I mentioned it to the dealer once and they said they didn't find anything wrong but I'm going to bring this up again soon and have a service mechanic drive around with me while I try and duplicate the issue and see if that goes anywhere. I'll post any helpful info that comes from it.

Same issues as everyone on here! 2018 Impreza Hatch MT. Thing has no fucking balls at all. Looses power at the 2000 rpm mark, dealer knows about it, they claim they couldnt replicate the problem. No check engine lights. Seafoamed the engine and had smooth power for like 10 hours and it went back to shit. The 2.0L High Compression engine is garbage. I love my car, but hate the engine. Had all the recalls done, still sucks. 150 hp never felt so slow. :(
**UPDATE- SOLVED!!** I posted a couple years ago that I was having the exact same issue as everyone else. I have a 2019 Impreza Hatch Sport MT. Recently, the AC in my car was not blowing cold air like it normally did so I had the dealership evaluate it. Their review showed that the AC ECU threw a code that the pressure switch on the evaporator line was failing, which also caused a leak in the AC so it was low on refrigerant. I had them fix the issue and a few days after the repair, I started noticing the RPM issue between 2,000-3,000 range stopped happening. It's been about 5 weeks now and the RPM issue has not happened! I am NOT a mechanic, just a bit of a gear head that is trying to piece this together :) I started researching how the AC could affect the car's performance so negatively. Turns out, the AC has a clutch that controls when the AC needs to call for more refrigerant. I believe this "call" is controlled by things like this pressure switch and the Revolution Sensor. The Revolution Sensor makes sure that the RPM of the AC clutch matches the RPM of the engine. Something like that. The AC clutch is spun by the same serpentine belt that spins the pullies for the engine. So, the best I can piece this together is that this faulty pressure switch was causing the compressor to turn on/off/on/off/on/off and maybe was messing with the Revolution Sensor, which resulted in a retard of the engine. If you are experiencing this loss of power in the 2,000-3,000 RPM range, have your car shop/dealership do an evaluation of the cars AC ECU and see if it's throwing any codes. Maybe you're experiencing the same issues as me. I wanted to share this in hopes it can help someone else!
