where is the data link port for 92 jeep cherokee?

chek engine light comes on. trying to find codes

it is located on the drivers side, next to the computer that is behind the headlight. It appears to be just a hanging plug. You should also be able to pull codes by putting your key into the ignition, then turning it to the run not start, then off then run then on. do this 3 times and the codes should come up on your check engine light on the dash. The flashes will be separated by short an long pauses. The long pauses separate the "ones" and "tens" positions, and each code from the next. A code 55 will be displayed at the end of the test.
