Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi all. i have an 2004 1.4i opel corsa B utility. Its starts up good, idles properly and then drive fine for about 10 to 20minutes. Then while driving the engine light comes on and goes of at times, then when i come to a stop it idles up, all the lights on the dash comes on and stalls, sometimes it idles up the lights comes on and as it wants to stall it idles okay again. So, i changed the Crank sensor, TPS sensor, Idle control valve, new plugs and cords, new map/oxygen sensor. Hope some-one can help... Jaco

Did you find a solution to your problem, as I'm having a similar problem, but with a 2007 Corsa 1.4 utility.

Hi Marinus, i spent 18k on the the bakkie, replaced every sensor, i ever put a new cam in, changed the belts and made sure the timing is good at 3 different shops. I sold the bakkie because i was fedup spending money and they cant fix the prob. Please dont just buy part if it says on the diagnostics is a map sensor or something. i had my bakkie 7 times on diagnostics and every part they told me to change was wsorking fine. Good luck.

Hi Jaco, do you think it may be a fault caused by the ECU, reading the sensors incorrectly, or just a common problem most of the utilities have?

if you can get someone to lend a ECU just to test it, it wont be a bad idea, but ECU's are very expensive (R4500+-). I had a guy with the same problem that went to OPEL and paid R1050 for diagnostics that told him the map sensor is low on volts. He got the new part and it still does the same. the only other thing it might be is the key way that can be worn even if your timing etc is right it can also cause this problem. like i said, don't waist to much money on sensors. It will cost you cheaper to get it fixed at a workshop, because they cant charge you for something that wasn't faulty.

Hi guys. I'm reading every thread I can to figure out what the problem can be with my 2006 utility. It starts but then just dies. Doesn't want to hold and idle. I have also changed every single sensor. Spent hours and hours. I just dont knw wht more to do and I'm soo frustrated. The fuel pump and fuel relay seems fine. I am at wits end
