Most common problem are weak battery, dirty or corroded battery cables. If after verifying battery and cables are good. turn ignition key on and bypass starter relay located on fender wall. If still nothing happens, try jumping it on the starter itself. If still doesn't turn over, replace starter.
99 Ranger has a smart key. I f engine will not crank then anti-theft module has gone bad or you do not have proper key. If engine cranks then possible a bad crankshaft or camshaft sensor. Use DBII code reader to find problem..
The truck is no longer leaking and has a new starter. Drove it around last night with no issues. Got up to go to work and it is doing the same thing. I did notice when I turn the key to start the anti-theft system light is blinking. What all parts make up the anti-theft system and where are they located?
