If my key fob battery goes dead, or the battery in the fob is low, will my alarms go off while it is parked in the drive way? Also if the fob is dead, how do I start my car?

This happened to me recently in my 2015 Jetta. When the fob battery started to go the dashboard display said 'No Key' and the car would not start right away. I didn't know that meant the battery was going but at some point I figured it out and replaced it. I found that hitting the 'unlock' button on the fob was enough to get a reaction out of it so that the car would start the next time I tried. That may have been coincidence, but it was certainly repeatable. As for a dead fob....I don't know of a way to start the car without it, but I didn't check the manual. Good luck.

This happened to me. Hold the fob next to where the key would normally be inserted on the dashboard and it will start. I know, there is no actual slot for the key but you can see a little plastic cover where the slot would be to the right of the steering wheel.

This just happened to me. Went off in the driveway in the middle of the night. One key fob has been on low battery and the other just went through the washer accidentally so thinking it was more likely that. I have a 2017 Jetta SE.

I would be interested to know what the fix was? I have a 2017 VW Jetta 1.8T SEL and I seem to be having the same problem. The alarm goes off when one of my keys is anywhere near the car and it’s flashing light is nonstop. Was it a key fob battery issue or could it be that the panic button is stuck?
