Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 1986 GMC c1500 350 small block
and I replaced the spark plugs and wires bc
they were old it ran great before I replaced
them. After i replaced them it started
misfiring through the carb and turns over but
wont start just misfires. It did start initially
but I noticed the wires were not in the
correct firing order so I changed them to the
correct firing order now it turns over and
wont start just misfires.

you should recheck firing order you could have wires crossed

what about the distributor cap and rotor did they have worn contacts ?
Idk if the guy who had it before 180 the distibutor bc the correct firing order isn't working and the way he had it before the number 2 spark plug went to the number six spot on the distibutor. How hard is it to fix a 180 distributor

holy crap ! ! I don't know if the motor cares where the distributor sits as long as # 1 fires where it's supposed to , but it's something they generally avoid and you won't get the timing set with a light because there's no mark on the pulley for a 180 distributor , but if it ran before then I guess it should run again
