Airbag light on the dash stays on

The airbag light comes on and stays on. Kia said it needs a new seat $1400 new, they
tried 2 used seats at $300 and neither worked. So not wanting a new seat they said there
was nothing short of that, so I took the car home. I see there are emulator bypasses by
airbag 360 that will work or could get a scanner to erase the code b1448. I wonder if
anyone has had luck with either or could I just keep trying used seats until one works.

Thank you, one seat-beat does not in fact retract all the way(on the drivers side). they told me they had a B1448 code which would tell them it's the mat. Could both need to beplaced. I guess 1 repair at a time. Thanks
When you say MAT are you referring to the seat itself? From what it states in the article, if the charge has blown for the seat belt tensioner, that will cause the light to come on, I think since you have had 3 seats in the car and the light is still on, I would say it's not the seat that is the issue. It would be the charge within the seat belt that is causing the light to illuminate. If the shop you took it to didn't offer that up as one of the possible causes, I would take it elsewhere to be fixed. It seems like they want to stick you with a $1400 seat. I highly doubt that all 3 seats you had installed were bad. Clearly, the seat can't be the issue.

Yes the mat in the passenger seat has been the issue according to the actual KIA dealership where I've had it it. The car has never been involved in any accident, I agree that they want to sell that new seat. Seat belt tensioner on the drivers side looks like that maybe the next option...crossing my fingers that does the trick, Thanks for all the info!

the airbag passenger light goes out every time even if it is unoccupied. The main airbag light(red with an airbag symbol) comes on the goes out for a around 30 seconds then comes on again and stays on.
service bulletin just came out last week for replacement of passenger seat sensor. call kia corporate to get a case number and have a dealer do the diagnosis. I just got mine replaced at no cost
