2004 Kia amanti won’t start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2004 Kia Amanti that will crank but won’t
start. The fuel pump is working ( I removed a hose
and verified it was pumping)
My daughter was driving it and said that when she
tried to accelerate from a stop the car sputtered,
she immediately headed for a parking lot about 30
feet away and made it just as the car died. It will
crank but won’t start, I put a reader on it and got
the following codes,P1118, P2122, P2127, P1178
I replaced the throttle position sensor with no
change.

P2122: Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APS) switch D circuit low input. P2127: APS switch E circuit low input. 1. Wire harness fault. Check for correct voltage, open, short to ground, short to voltage 2. Control unit software in need of update 3. Faulty PCM or ECM 4. Battery voltage low The APS is located on the back of the passenger side strut tower. Once you remove the engine compartment cover on that side you can't miss it. It's a sensor with a big spring and the throttle cable goes right to it. They are very easy to replace. But before you replace it check the connector first. Initial problems with this sensor began when dielectric grease was packed in the connector at the factory. It's worth a shot to check it, and remove the grease/clean the connector clear the code in recheck. Replacements can be found it salvage yards, or on the net for about $100. Newer is better. P1178 Electronic Throttle System Motor Battery Voltage Open 1.Throttle Body harness is open or shorted 2 Electronic Throttle Body circuit poor electrical connection 3 remove air intake hose and try to move the throttle butterfly valve with you finger. If it is slow or hard to move, remove the entire electric motor from the unit and clean and lube the roller bearing on the armature.
Replace the mass airflow sensor

Take a look at throttle body, I have the same issue. Cleaned out throttle when throttle spray and toolnout excess particles in the catch screen was horrible. Black on black and after continuous cleaning it was renewed and had not sputtered or failed after crank... Start off with simple stuff not costly... It's just that people try to give you too much
