Question type: Maintenance & Repair

when i bought my spectra i noticed that the radio and the clock on top
never saved data, so i checked the fuses and the constant on the back of
the radio but it was all good. i did notice that there was a wire coming out of
my fuse for i think the radio and it also had a much larger voltage fuse on
the radio plug. now this wire ran all across the dash and i noticed that
someone had  spliced the wire for the constant and the  one wire right
below it i cant remember which it is. but i disconnected the two and my
radio would not turn on anymore. so i connected the two back together and
the radio worked, but i disconnected the extra wire and put in the right fuse.
now neither my radio nor my clock save and its almost as if nothing in my
car runs any electricity unless the key is in. also i remember now the wire
right below the constant is the starter wire.

The wire you disconnected was the main radio wire that runs off the keyed side of the fuse panel. There is another wire that is a hot wire that runs for the live side of the fuse panel, (Live as in power to it at all times with the key off.) That missing wire is the wire that supplies power to the memory and clock.
