!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i! P L E A S E - H E L P !i!i!i!i!i!i!i!!i!i!i Can't get the ft Lbs of torque right, rocker arm to head bolts ~ 3.0 Ford 12 valve v6 (99taurus). Please see question above. Here is a repeat " if I tighten more than finger tight I loose all compression, the book says 20 -28 ft lbs @ TDC but if I use a socket or wrench even just a tiny bit I loose all compression. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I really need this car to run. The tags are all paid for, it passed emmisions for here in Ca but the check engine light was on a previous diagnosis at the local certified ford service dept. said the #2 fuel injector was faulty so i pulled the upper intake and the 3 injectors for that bank (after doing the "pull 1 spark plug wire at a time to see which cylinder/s weren't hitn trip" revealed that the #1 AND the #2 weren't hitn) and sure enough when I checked with an ohms meter injector #2 showed nothing while the 1 and 3 showed 15 ohms. So I decided to replace all 3 in hopes that I won't ever have to pull the upper intake again. The first time I started the engine after replacing them I heard a loud clankity clankity clank so I imedeately shut it off and said to myself Oh s*"# I must have dropped something in the motor. After removing both heads and finding nothing I found the big wrench that I left between the right front fender and the belts f*'"#'n tore the motor apart for nothing. This is my first time tearing into a car motor I'm more familiar w/motorcycles so if anyone can tell me what I did wrong I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for reading this book. ~Aaron~

!I!I!I!I!I!I P R O B L E M - S O L V E D I!I!I!I!I!I!I Taurus problem solved. I wasn't getting it to exactly top dead center cuz I didn't think I needed to and I couldn't see the timing marks on the harmonic balancer cuz it was too rusty also because I was using the starter motor instead of a breaker bar & socket to turn the motor. I thought I would have to take the whole front fender off to get to it. I finally figured out to take off just the front half of the plastic fender well inside the fender and "WALLA"!! There was the front of the motor stareing right at me. So I used a drill motor with a wire wheel brush to clean the rust off the harmonic balancer, then used a ratchet & socket to turn the motor to TDC, used a different kind of torque wrench (the kind with a dial instead of the kind that goes click click) to tighten the 2 rockers for the #1 cylinder, then had my Mom operate the remote starter button while I plugged the spark plug hole with my finger and it went Psssssst & popped my finger out of the hole. Now I just have to finish putting the rest of it back together.
