2018 GMC Terrain dies at stoplights and gear flips over into neutral

Our 2018 GMC Terrain (low mileage) has developed an issue with stalling at
stoplights with the transmission then flipping over into neutral. The car restarts
but it's frightening when you have a long line of cars behind you and your car
stalls. It's been in to see our beloved mechanic but they can't duplicate the
issue.
