Does the 2018 Ford Edge 4 cylinder battery need to be coded to the vehicle?

No, but on many newer vehicles the computers must stay powered up during a battery replacement or they'll have to be flashed (programmed) after the new battery is installed. You can buy a memory saver to prevent this from happening. Hope that helps! Jim

On those, take old battery out and put new battery in. Nothing special to do. I work for a Ford dealership as a parts manager and we frequently do this.
