Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have locked my keys in my car on several occasions but
since I bought it used I didn't get the manual and people
bought it from didn't know the code either. Is there a way to
reset it so I can enter my own code?

Your car's computer has a permanent five digit keypad code. You can also program your own temporary code but you will need the permanent code to access that feature. Call your dealer and ask him what proof of ownership he requires. You may also want to show him your car to see the VIN and registration. He can go to his data base and get your code and show you how to program a temporary code. My permanent code is 89365, and temporary is easy to key in, 10101. This is all easily done on the keypad. I hope this helps.
