Have the Toque Converter Clutch Soilnold checked out. When this part goes bad it will lock up the toque converter as soon as you put it in gear or will cause the vehicle to shut off coming to a stop. Will start back up.
Yea it will, i turn it on today nd switch it in gear nd it didnt turn of this time
So no chance of it being anything else the car had been sitting for awhile nd the engine needs to be clean very dirty

There is always a possibility of being something else but nothing comes to mind expect that since the car runs good until you put it in drive that is when the toque converter from the transmission kicks in.

Here are a few things you can try that might work clean throttle body and clean or replace idle air control valve or mass air flow sensor. Replace fuel filter if have not done so in a while and add fuel injector cleaner to gas tank. Also check air filter. Check for vacuum leaks.
Its also stopped when i drive for distant but put it park nd started back up nd drove it home
