Should the fan on a 2001 Lincoln LS come on as soon as you start the car ?

Are you talking about the electric fans at radiator? If so they should come on when engine temp gets to high or when ac is turned on.

well yes...if the operating temperature has been achieved....cold.....NO WAY..we must change the thermostatic control of your fan(s) if this is the case...you might start with the block temp sensor~ https://www.google.com/#q=2001+Lincoln+LS+V8+block+temperature+sens or

Oh ok. You know they have a conversion out now to change it from the stock hyd fan to an electric fan.

I'd assume always on , just as the better cars with v belts had

Ur primary fan comes on when it reaches a set temperature and the second speed come on when u engage ac so if ur car is cold and not up to operating temp ur fan should not be running unless ur ac is on
