Typically Lincoln has a good product, I'm surprised your friend has trouble at 100k. I would consider trying to find one with the V8 engine if possible.

As with any car/make/model if you don't maintain your car and actually take care of it, you will have problems. Cars aren't perfect, I don't car what model it is THEY ALL BREAK!!! THEY ALL SUCK!!! They all have their goods and bads. I have worked as a mechanic for about 10years now. Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Hyundai, Toyota, Chevrolet, Mercedes, I've worked on them all. I own a 2000 Lincoln LS V8 112,000miles. I love this car to death. Just put a new transmission in it before 100k. I would say the transmissions in these cars are a nice transmission. The car is actually the same platform as the Jaguar S-type.

i'de say it is an awesome car! My brother ownes a 2004 LSE 3.9l V8, it is very fast, smooth riding, shifting running, just all around an excellent car! Highly recommended. Not Acura..
