Cooling fan not working
Asked by Taylor Jun 30, 2019 at 03:03 PM about the 2000 Lincoln LS V8
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
So I have replaced every component of the cooling
system I can think of in my 2000 Lincoln ls 3.9l v8.
Including the radiator, water pump, thermostat
housing, coolant hoses, and coolant reservoir. The
cooling fan doesn’t turn on when the engine starts
to get hot. I’ve tested the hydraulic acuator and it
works. I’m just stuck and don’t know what to look
into next.

This tells the fans to come on when temperature starts to rise.

Your vehicle has a cylinder head temperature sensor and it is located at the top of passenger side cylinder head towards back. You will need a 9mm or 3/4 deep socket to remove and install.
Do I have to take the intake manifold off to get to it
I am having the same problem and was told the sensor in under the intake manifold
