Please help me

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My boyfriend's 2000 Lincoln LS is having some
issues what do you think is wrong?
It was running smoothly and then all of a sudden it
started having rough starts, and it's stalling and
sputtering while ideling, to where it shakes the car,
and also there is a terrible carbon monoxide smell
coming from the car.

Did the check engine light come on????

defective ignition coil are an issue with these cars at higher mileage. You may also want to check for any vacuum leaks.
