Replaced passenger side mirror, , now my blind spot warning system does
not work. The new mirror has the feature, just doesn't work. Removed neg
battery post for 5 minutes to reset, but no help. Someone said needs
recalibration, $300 at dealer! The BSW sensor was not changed, just the
mirror. Any suggestions.

Unfortunately that's most likely the answer. I've heard of BMWs, for example, that need to be flashed (recalibrated) after replacing something as simple as a window or sunroof motor. Jim

Thanks James. I just see why it would need to be calibrated. The mirror just gets a voltage from the sensor when something gets in the path. If I changed the sensor I would understand the need for calibration. Someone else said they found the new mirror to be at fault. I will read out the wires and see. Thanks again. Bill
Yep James is right. But there are some independent shops out there that have dealer quality scanners that can recalibrate the BCM to recognize the new parts.
