Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is it worth keeping a 1998 Ford Expedition Eddy Bower for parts for a 2012
Ford Expedition Max 4WD 4dr Limited?  Or am I better off just scrapping the
1998?

If it still runs, sell it, you will get more money for it than a in scrap yard. If it doesn't run, then part it out, then scrap the rest.

I agree with if it still runs and drives to sell it. Anything over about $300 or so and you did better than scrap value. Maybe a young person would like it for a first vehicle or a parts vehicle for one he already has. Parting it out will be a pain in the neck. I've been down that road. You'll have the vehicle, at various stages of disassembly sitting in your driveway or on your property. Your local Township and or your neighbors might not be too happy about that! If it doesn't run and drive try selling it whole as a parts vehicle. Price it a few hundred dollars over scrap value and see what happens. There's really nothing compatible between the two vehicles so either way it's not worth keeping in my opinion. Jim

Thank you much appreciated, I think I know a young person who would like it. It's stuck in 4 low and has an exhaust leak but other than that it runs great. The 5.4 motor has been trouble- free. Thanks and Cheers.
