2008 Dodge Ram 1500 will not start.

Asked by Tsj4031 Feb 26, 2021 at 12:12 AM about the 2008 Dodge RAM 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The Truck will work ten times in a row and then not
start for hours. Usually in order for it to work I have
to leave it sitting for a day and come back and try
again. It will start after being left alone for a day or
more. Sometimes it will start after having the
battery disconnected for 10 minutes.
This week I have replaced the starter, the ignition
switch, as well as had a new key fob programmed
for the truck. It continues to not start. The
dealership checked out the alternator as well and it
checks out as good.
The battery has been checked, and it is ok. When I
turn the key I have power to everything.
(Radio, locks, windows), the truck still does not turn
over.
I have tried putting it in neutral, and ensuring it is all
the way in park to no avail.
Weird thing is sometimes the truck will make almost
a chime like noise, if it does this it will start
immediately after hearing the sound.
Any advice on what to check next, I am at a loss as
to what it could be. Thanks for any advice. This
truck is driving me crazy.
