Antenna mast problems

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My original antenna broke and I stupidly replaced it with an antenna that didn't fit. It was stupid, stupid. Anyway this one had an extender and then a mast. The extender went into the roof piece, the mast on the extender. When I finally got around to getting a better one, my problems started. The mast came off but the extender isn't coming off. It turns but doesn't come up. When I turn it and pull, same thing. I guess the threading is worn?

Does anyone have any ideas on what else I can try?

And assuming I'm out of luck there, does anyone have any idea how difficult/expensive it is to replace the roof component for the antenna? My fear would be breaking a waterproof seal amongst other things.

Thanks in advance!

The head liner will need to be remove from the inside of the car, time and cost will depend where you live, But I would say around $200.00 with you supply the new antenna.
