2018 Subaru Crosstrek premium air conditioner

Asked by GuruTFDWN Jul 19, 2018 at 01:08 PM about the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek Premium

Question type: General

I'm in Houston, TX, and the day I test drove this car, the air conditioning didn't
seem to work well.  I drove about 1 mile, and the air conditioner never got
cold! Yes, it was 100 degrees outside, but my Toyota responds much more
quickly. What kind of information can you give about this?

I would not buy it. My 2015 Forester's AC works pretty well now that the dealer sorted out all the problems it had from the factory. Keep in mind you could drop a grand or more getting it to work.

My 2018 fully loaded crosstrek has extremely weak Air. I took it out of my garage that is cooler than the outside air which was 91. I drove for over 30 minutes with temp set at 60 and blower set at max. It was extremely uncomfortable. My 2001 Toyota Tundra will chill you out in hotter weather.

I live in Palm Springs. Summers are extremely hot. My 2019 CT Limited had terrible air conditioning. The seats were very uncomfortable, the windshield is not tinted due to Eyesight cameras, mileage was not good. I have had many other cars during my time in Palm Springs and never noticed an air con problem. I got rid of the car in 9 months by breaking the lease which was very costly. I didn’t care because I was miserable in that car. For some reason, I’m still allowed on this forum.
