Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok so I have an 04 Mazda 3 sedan and the
AT light has come on and stays on. At first it
was off and on, car jerked from first to third in
automatic mode, a few days later, AT light
comes on at start of car and stays on the
entire ride. In automatic mode I have first and
third but absolutely no second or fourth,
manual mode option does not work at all. I
can drive my car and it will make it to 60mph
but tack sticks at 4000 and whines. At a stop
when I proceed to go it jumps straight from
first to third and depending on how much gas
I give it at that point it squeals or screeches a
min. I’ve had this problem before (can’t
remember the code) but the guy didn’t feel
like opening the transaxle, said it was
complicated to get into so he took mine out
and put a rebuild one in and here I am
dealing with this issue again. Haven’t got
new codes for this issue but I’m super
annoyed at this point

Do not go back to that mechanic. Take it to a different one. Could be many things. Could be electrical as well.
