Question type: Maintenance & Repair

so i am a new driver and i bought a 2004 mazda 3 when i
test drove it, the car was fine until i hit 3rd gear. once in 3rd
gear it rev like it was in neutral. i could manually switch it to
4th and it was fine ( 1,and 2 was also fine). after i drove it
home (15 min drive). i parked it the following week i went to
drive it 2nd and 4th gear didnt work and has not worked
since i took it to several auto store to get a read on the
problem and only 1 time a error came back it ( dont
remember the error code) it was a shift solnoid so i
replaced all solnoids and the filter and fluid, it did not fix the
issue i am having 2nd gear kindof works after the change
but it revs really high and gains little to no speed. the at
light is on and sometimes the check engine light is on.
before i spend hundreds on a new tranny i am hoping
someone knows the solution to my problem.

What is the 4 digit engine code? ExP0700 A 700 series code will be transmission related. If you change all you did, your looking at replacing the transaxle with a used one, a rebuilt or remanufactured one. A used transmission shipped to your house is around $1000. If you can install it, you can save another $1000.

Your automatic transmission is going out. Common issue on these older Mazda 3 autos.
