Car shut off at light after smelling a weird smell when heater was blowing ??

Battery light on meant you're charging system wasn't working - so for all we know, you were driving on battery power alone and vehicle cut off when battery finally went dead. As to the smell - need more info. Burning smell? Acrid? Were you overheating? Did you lose the serpentine belt? Was it steering hard too? I'd pop the hood and at least check the condition of the belt, make sure all electrical connections at battery are good and tight, check coolant level check oil level, then try to restart it.
It smelled like burning wires or short circuit idk how to explain it. Steering was fine. Looked at the battery looks fine, coolant was low though. So put antifreeze in and got a jump heated up the car for a few then drove .got like two blocks down and lights in the car got dim and car shut off. Luckily someone was following me ,gave me a jump jus went back home. Let the car sit for 2 mins and car was making weird sound when we turned on the heat car wanted to shut off we turned off the heat everything was fine. Not sure wats wrong but I think it has something to do with the heater
OK, I'd park it and not turn it on until you can isolate what circuit is overheating. Does problem occur with the heater/blower motor kept off? Something is burning, you don't want to let it get any worse. The problem is bad enough to cause engine to shut off, I don't see the passenger cabin blower motor doing that. Inspect as much as you can, look for anything out of the ordinary like singed wiring. Your nose may lead you to the problem area too. You don't mention blown fuses, odd if you have an electrical short that isn't enough to blow a fuse yet still enough to cause a burning smell... may also want to check the body control module (BCM).
Thank u for all ur input, greatly appreciated! I mean car stays on when heater isn’t on but still lights flicker on n off and wants to turn off. I dnt know anyone that would know how to fix the issue. I checked the fuse box and nothing was blown. Where would the bcm be located? I will google it if anything
You should check all harnesses and electrical connections, start at the battery and make sure the terminals are on tight and not frayed or corroded. Hard to say if heater is problem or not, maybe turning it on drew too much amperage on the battery. Again, check all harnesses and battery cables, make sure the ground is good. Check all bulkhead grommets where harness or wires pass thru firewall. Your described symptoms don't indicate any specific problem area other than "something is shorting" and you're intermittently losing power. So grab a flashlight and a friend and start looking, if it's not an obvious problem you may want to turn it over to a pro. Electrical problems are by far the worst thing to track down.
