Lost power, CEL & VDC lights came on

I have a 2018 Subaru Impreza Sport. While stopped
at a light, once I tried to accelerate I completely
lost power and engine stopped running. The check
engine and vehicle dynamics control lights came
on. I put the car in park, shut it off and restarted
and everything was running fine, and the lights
turned off. So it is running fine as of now but why
would this happen? I'm concerned of it happening
again.

No CEL? There may have been "an event" that is in the bowels of the ECM so that a good scanner can see the history, but I'd ignore it unless it repeats. Modern Imps/Fors/CTs have MANY more idiosyncratic problems than OBs and Legs. Baffling....
