service and maint. schedules
Asked by GuruCK3TG Feb 28, 2019 at 08:51 AM about the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 144 High Roof Passenger Van RWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I just purchased a 2018 RV class C with a non turbo V6 diesel. Because the
RV was built by Forest River the motor is a 2016. It still has 1 1/2 years of
warranty with only 2,200 miles on the unit. The books that came with it are:
3 small Sprinter manuals, Service and warranty info 2016, and a Sprinter
operator's manual. I have checked these books and cannot find any service
schedule outline..
Could you please send me a service schedule or booklet with this info so I
can properly maintain this vehicle.

Hmm.... Richard, whomever gave you the idea that you have a "non-turbo diesel V6? All recent Mercedes Benz engines are turbo diesel engines including yours......as for the service schedule... also odd is that you think that a 2018 Class C by Forrester has a 2016 engine? Most have one year behind on the RV..not two years behind....SO....you might have a 2017 MB engine...3 litre V6?? Look again at the booklet with the service and warranty ..... I think your model is an oil change every 20,000 miles or one year.....I would caution you to follow the time... not the mileage.....RV's have a very different way of accumulating miles than cars. Also use synthetic Mobil 1 is excellent . You can also download the specs from the Mercedes Benz website.... look at this. https://www.mbvans.com/sprinter/owners-resources/owner-manuals I actually looked at the Forrester on the Mercedes Benz chassis before we purchased our Roadtrek....nice rig you have. Did you purchase it from a dealership or private party? What price did you pay? Good luck and safe travels.....
The service schedule should be in the manuals you listed. Look for the Maintenance Booklet. You can also get one here: https://assets.mbvans.com/Mercedes-Benz- Vans/Manuals/2015/2015-Mercedes-Benz-Sprinter-Maintenance-Manual.pdf? _ga=2.169578665.961361333.1554949618-500388005.1554949618 Also you mentioned you have a 2018 rV with a 2015 motor. This seems odd. I have one too and it's a 2016 RV with a 2015 CHASSIS (which includes the motor). I find it hard to believe yours wouldn't be a 2017 or 2018 chassis. You may want to check that. ALSO - unless you bought it used, the Mercedes-Benz warrant starts when YOU purchased the vehicle as the first end user. The RV dealer routinely sends that information to Mercedes-Benz or they should if they didn't. You can verify this at any authorized Sprinter service centers (not all of which are MB dealers....) and they can look you up in their computer. If you aren't registered, call MB customer service (listed in manual) and find out how to get registered. This is extremely important for warranty service. You should get a full 3 years of warranty on everything (NOT including the RV components) and 5 years on the engine and emission control system.
