2018 Nissan Rouge Radio issues
Asked by GuruXN4Q7 Nov 02, 2018 at 02:47 AM about the 2018 Nissan Rogue SL FWD
Question type: General
So I have seen that people are having issues
with the radio turning on when the car starts
even if it was off before the car was parked.
My problem is that while I am driving the the
whole display including the radio turns off. It
reboots it’s self and then starts playing again,
and the radio fades in and out while I’m
driving. Also, when I put my car in reverse
one out of ten times the camera won’t come
on, I have to put it back in park then back in
reverse to get the camera to work. I have
brought it into the dealership and they say
there isn’t anything wrong with the car, and
when the radio is fading out it’s the signal
strength. I have listen to the same station for
many years and have never had that
problem, especially since it’s a local station.
It’s obviously a computer issue. Has anyone
else had this problem or does anyone have
any advice on how I could fix it?

we are also having problems with our radio on our 2015 nissan rogue. the navigation system seems to be working ok, but radio was going off and on when we hit a bump, but now is completely off...we have 20,000.km on the car. we were told it would cost approx 5,000.00 for a new one. does anyone out there know of a radio technician that is familiar with this type of radio/navigation system
Today the navigation system was in please wait. I don't know what to do
I’ve been having several issues with my 2018 Nissian Rogue since I got it. I’ve taken it to the dealership after each incident. The problems consist of the stereo going completely black. The volume is the only option at play. I’m not able to turn power on/off. Unable to make a phone call as well. After several attempts from the dealer trying to recreate the event, the stereo was finally replaced. However, now with the “new stereo”, the volume is unable to be heard. Go figure! Not to mention the other issues I’ve had to put up with. One day with less than 500 miles on it and it doesn’t start. One day as I started to drive, the front sensors alarmed and sent my car into rapid deceleration mode. Guess what? There was nothing and no one in front of me. Every so often I would see the side sensors sound and flicker. Finally, my car seats do not heat up. The controls are on either setting (hi/low) and I feel no heat whatsoever. Again I am told nothing is wrong at all. I rented a 2019 nissian Rogue this past weekend and I have concluded that my 2018 is not as functional. I’m very displeased with my lease.
I just had a incident yesterday with my 2017 Nissan Rouge I was driving a icon came on to do with the air bag so I thought well I need to take this in for service. 1/2 a mile going down the road I started to see that my radio was constantly changing stations on its own then no sound no Bluetooth and then the screen went black to gray was very frightening cause I was at least 50/60 miles from my destination and I was smelling like a burning plastic smell. I’m angry cause it’s a lease and although I’m over my limits with this lease as far as mileage this should have never happened I was told that the radio was only covered up to 36 thousand miles I’m just about 600 miles over that I’m very upset about this right now and this is going to be a cost I can’t insure. Please if there is anyone out there that has had this same difficulty please let me know what to do.
My 2018 is in the shop getting the radio replaced finally. The screen went black the 1st week I had it. The last time I told them this is enough I want it replaced. Hopefully this will take care of the problem. I bought the Rogue new Feb 2018
Hold power and ok. Button until it resets. Found on another forum and seems to have fixed my issue with not being able to turn the radio off.
The hold power and ok button seems to have corrected my touchscreen not working issues. For now anyway
We have a 2014 Rogue and I dont think we have an OK button. The ok we have is in the screen and since our screen is completely black we cant do anything
The radio in my 2017 Nissan Pathfinder stopped working and the whole unit would power cycle. I couldn't use any of the functions associated with the music. I took it to Nissan and they said the DCU was bad. It's a 4000.00 fix. The car has 48,000 miles on it and I got it less than a month ago from a non Nissan dealer who refuses to help.

I have a 2018 Rogue SL the first week I had it the radio shut off and rebooted twice, I called the dealership and was told the radio need to be updated. So I took the car in after the 1000 check up and they updated the radio that was July, in September the dealership replaced the radio with newest model radio. That work for about 2 months then the radio shut down again and rebooted call dealership had to take in to updated radio once again, then about 2 months later shuts down and rebooted again. Take to dealership this time they replace the radio yet again, 3 radio in car in 10 months of ownership. Now the radio has shut down and rebooted again this time take longer. Right before all the time it is going to shut down I start to loose signal for SiriusXM out in the open area so I k ow it is going to start acting up again. How many radios will it take before Nissan starts to look for another problem besides the radio. I like my car but this radio problem is really starting me to rethink about a Nissan
I am taking my 2018 Rouge in today for the fifth time. I have had every problem on this and more. I been taking videos and pictures since they say they cant see the problem. They calibrated it once and replaced it once. I complained and now hopefully i can just get a new car. Luckily Hawaii has something called the Lemon law. My car only made a year and i went it too much since i got it. I love my Rouge but the radio is irritating.
I have a 2018 rouge sl and had problems with the clock changing time on its own while driving, say it was 1:00 and I was driving then clock would change to 10:00 for a minute or two then go back to the right time, took it in and dealer put dsl and time zones on manual as this is what they said was causing it to jump around but this did not help, next they changed the radio (last week) and today while driving same thing happened. Anyone else having this problem? Not as serious as some of the others problems on here but still irritating.
My 2018 Rogue has radio issues. The CD player will randomly kick on, turning off the radio. The radio goes silent randomly and no control will respond. Radio then needs to be turned off and will work when turned on. Dealership replaced radio and problems continue. Jon K.

Follow up to my post from 3 weeks. I took my 2018 Rogue to the dealer because after having 3 radios installed it kept shutting down and rebooting so after the garage having the car for 3 days and dealing with the Tech Department of Nissan the ONLY conclusion they came up with is it is my IPhone X software is TOO up to date and Nissan Bose radio is not. And Nissan can not tell me when an update for their software will be available for my radio. This problem has been going for over 1 year. I guess if you have an IPhone DONT but a Nissan
My 2018 rogue radio touch screen will completely lock up. Can’t do anything. I’ll stop turn car off then restart, still nothing. It’s happened 4 times so far
I've complained about radio/navigation scrolling, rebooting intermittently and CD turning on itself since buying 2018 Rogue. I finally videoed it to prove to Nissan and they keep saying it's fine they can not recreate issue. It disconnects samsung phones not just I phones. Annoyed.
Nissan Rogues suck!!! I hate them and would never buy or lease another. They are garbage! Nissan knows of all these issues and continues selling them and then doesn’t back the problems when they arise! I think anyone who owns one and is having major issues with little miles should all ban together and sue their ass. I have had one problem after another with this crap and it sounds like I am not the only one.
I AGREE LET ME KNOW I HAVE A 2018 AWD S ROUGUE
THIS IS ACTUALLY A FACTORY RECALL ITEM/ I JUST WENT TO THE DEALER /IT IS COMMON AND WILL BE FIXED FOR FREE
I have a 2019 Nissan Kicks and just read all these comments. Sad to say the issue with the radio continues. I bought the car new and 3 weeks later the radio started rebooting and deleting my saved radio stations and the time. Took it in and they claimed nothing was wrong that it was just dusty from shipping and they cleaned it. Problem persisted, they ended up having to change it to a new radio altogether after I persisted. It was working fine for a while, but 4 months later same problem. Now they’re telling me it’s my iPhone signal messing with the radio or that the radio’s software has to be updated. I called BS. This shouldn’t be happening to a car that’s not even 6 months old. Completely ridiculous.
There is a factory update available. BUT, if you're like me, the update did no good. I'm back at the Nissan. Dealership again today. My in-dash(radio/nav) randomly cuts off and on driving down the road. Has already been replaced ONE time. Now, they tell me bc I'm out of the 12mth window, I have to pay for it. Also, note I'm just over the 36k factory warranty. Waiting to see what they say this time.

I have a 2014Rogue, I have similar problems with my radio screen going black, rebooting itself. But i also can not access from setting my audio button, it is completely greyed out. When i start my car , radio plays in both front and back speakers... but when i start to drive and hit 20 mph , it shuts off in the front and only plays in the back. I’m frustrated and I am going to buy a different car.
My Entire Radio / Navigation system shut down .
My 2018 Nissan Rogue’s radio has been nothing but trouble. They had to replace it a year ago because it wouldn’t do updates and had a new radio put in for free. They claimed it cost over $3000. Anyway now it’s been turning on by itself when I make a sharp left turn. Like when you make a 90 degree turn at a stoplight or turning up a street. I noticed only a left turn triggers it although it has come on before by itself at other times. Why would this even happen? You would think a radio would be your least problem. Convinced by reading all these answers it’s obviously a software issue and they don’t know how to fix nor care about it. They want your warranty to run out.
For the 2015 Rogue issue where the satellite/sirius radio loses signal while driving or parked, if you look at the volume knob near your navigation display, it is also marked "power" if you press the button. Press the power button and hold it down until the screen goes black and the nissan logo appears. Once it has restarted, just select your satellite/sirius radio and it will play again like normal. And dont worry, it is perfectly safe to do while driving the vehicle. I bought this 2015 Rogue new and just lived with the satellite radio dropping off randomly until one day I just decided to hold down the power button to see what it would do and it thankfully worked.
