2018 Kia Niro Question

Asked by ajrempe81 Aug 18, 2019 at 11:41 AM about the 2018 Kia Niro Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I purchased my Niro in August of 2018. I didn't notice this until it got hot this
year and I had to start using the air conditioning. When I accelerate and
between the speeds of 30 and 45 mph, it seems like the motor hesitates and
surges. This only happens when I have the A/C on. Anyone else seem to have
this issue?

Yes, I've noticed that. But that's just part, I think, of the general acceleration "style" of the Niro that reviewers have been writing about since early reviews. Great car in a lot of ways. And the sport mode even has a lot of pick up. But overall, the acceleration is not smooth and the engine seems to over-rev often and at odd times.
