My 2001 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8t avant had a
dead battery and when i tried turning the
car on several lights blinked and i could
hear a clicking noise, I got a new battery,
and the car still does the same thing, lights
flashing. Why is my car doing that? Some
people say the car needs to get reflashed
or recoded, but idk if it does and how lonf
that is going to take? Please help me i
need this car to go to school and work,
specially school becayse finals are next

have the car scanned at a audi specialist shop. get the codes and come back. If the car is still clicking after a fresh battery tho i would have to say the starter has likely gone capute.
My 2001 Audi A4 Quattro was low on oil and had no coolant yet it still turned on. But the rpms would fluctuate from 1000 down to 250 and the car would idle roughly. CEL was on. Turned off the car, topped off the oil (didn’t fill coolant because I had no access to any) reset the ecu. Now the car just starts and immediately the rpm needle drops and the car shuts off. 2001 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8t
refill your coolant its not programed to run with nothing in the system.
I just checked for vacuum leaks and it turns out there’s a tremendous vacuum leak on the turbo inlet hose(hose that goes from the air box into the turbo, it looks like an accordion) luckily it was under warranty so the shop will replace it. Deathjam4 do you think that huge vacuum leak had something todo with he car not staying on?
