i want to rebuild this engine but iv never rebuilt a engine before all help is greatly appreciated thank you
the engine i want to rebuld is a 3.8l v6 :( anyway its in a 98 mustang
sitting in the yard doing nothing we bought it last year-ish with a salvage
title and the front end bearly holding in by i cant recall how many screws
but i know they are the screws used plywood n other stuff like that
it quit runing about 3 or 4 months ago we would turn the key it would try to
turn over it has starting problems so we kept trying untell the battery died
and i haven't tried starting it cence in fear of burning out the starter i tryed
to figure why the theft light blinks when the key is turned halfway for the
radio it never did that before and i cant find any info why or whats going on
with that light i realized i wanted to rebuild the engine last week when i got
bord and poped the hood to see if the battery was still hooked up i looked
and saw the stock headers that looked aftermarket and the engine is
actioaly not that bad there was no oil but im going to need a new power
steering pump because im guessing the seal went out and leaked we had
problems with that two sadly enough
i already asked my dad and he said if i make it worse by as he says "fixing
what is unfix-able" its on me to get it out of our yard i feel as long as i do
my homework and have patience i can do this with little to no error im
actioaly only 16 lol but i have worked on cars before just not that far into
the engine and not that type of engine i was wanting to know where shuld i
start after im sure iv studied and learned enough to know more then just
changing the thermostat and checking the fluids n changing oil ,air filter n
oil filter lol im sorry this was so long i plan on haveing enough saved by
next month to by the rebuild kit im currently employed even tho i only
worked one day this week and i know someone with a cherry picker thats
not a jerk because when i asked if he can help me pull the engine he sayed
yes so hopeifyly this work out thank you have a great day
