Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just changed the fuel pressure regulator in my 99 Chevy 5.7liter and the
motor clunker and locked up. It can find before this what would cause this to
happen and how do I fix it?

Chances are high that you hydro locked the engine with fuel, remove all the spark plugs, disable the coils then crank over the engine by hand and we if any of the cylinders squirt fuel out the spark plug holes, then let the fuel dissipate in the open air before putting the plugs back in. Then check for fuel in the engine oil, if there’s fuel there then change the oil and filter. After that it should start and run, but be aware that some excess fuel could be in the exhaust system and this could cause a lot of grey/white smoke out the tailpipe for a while until the catalyst gets hot enough to burn off the excess fuel..
