no start , no spark , no compression

Does no start , no spark have anything to do with no compression ?

Not that I know of (over heating) , bought used guy said key problem . So been going through security stuff . But friend said they had at shop and was told no compression . But I tested and no spark , so wondering if no spark has anything to do with compression ? Or just rebuild and go from there ?!
