What is the Blue Light on an 05 Mercury Mountaineer?

Asked by MeyerMom Dec 13, 2016 at 09:26 PM about the 2005 Mercury Mountaineer Convenience AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Our Mecurcy Mountaineer was making buzzing
sound which it had made before & the battery was
dead. So last time, we jumped it & no more
problem. Today it started making the same
chirping/buzzing sound & when my husband went
to jump it sirens & alarms started going off, we
now have a blue light flashing as well. He took off
the battery & replaced it & we still can not start it.
As soon as the positive post hits it the alarms start
going off, the dash lights all go on & off. The key
does not disarm it.

The only blue light I am aware of is the High Beam indicator. This probably flashes along with all the other alarm lights and sounds. I don't think your problem is this light - it is your security system and it appears as if it is malfunctioning. Have a dealer correct it.
