where is the freeze plug located on my 6 cylinder

hissing and leaking antifreeze from somewhere around thermastat

If its leaking from around the thermostat area it's not your freeze plug most likely your thermostat housing.

Freeze plugs or core plugs are usually on the side of the engine block and sometimes on the ends of cylinder heads. You may have a cracked thermostat housing, bad thermostat gasket or a leaking coolant hose.
