2001 mercury sable just shut off going down the road. Lights and radio all work but car will not turn over. Any ideas?

are you getting a click when trying to start it back up? if it jumps then move onto troubleshooting battery and alternator. check your belts as well

yes it clicks but can't jump it; all fuses and relays were checked with volt meter and check out fine

I think my anti theft system has locked up on the car. The theft light will not stop blinking and looking through the owner's manual it appears this will cause a no start situation. Any ideas on resetting this?

a good friend and mechanic worked on the car today and wound up jumping the starter and the car is now running-what could this mean?

before car was jumped at starter, could not get a code to come up, showed an error and to check connection.After car was jumped, checked for codes and everything was clear. Any ideas?
